CNC Apprentice

Responsibilities

  • Undertake level 2 or above, college course in related field.
  • To learn and develop skills required to become a professional CNC/Manual Machine operator (Lathe/Milling), including learning and understanding of Engineering and Engineering drawing requirements.
  • Compute dimensions and tolerances to measure and lay out work pieces.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate speeds and feeds
  • Verify dimensions of machined parts for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instrument
  • Follow all Health and Safety regulations relevant to the work environment.
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards and ensure proper use of personal protective equipment.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 GCSEs with grades A to C with, ideally, English and Maths being two of those subjects.
  • Completed 1st year within college and join FO> and attend single day release for 2nd and 3rd year of study.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Enjoy working in a Technical Engineering Environment.
  • Be eager and willing to learn
  • A good communicator, both written and verbal
  • Task orientated and extremely well organised.
  • Excellent time management skills
