Flexible working hours would consider part time or full time. Core operating hours Monday to Saturday 8.30am to 4.30pm. We are seeking a skilled cook for our busy town centre café restaurant and venue space which offers high quality local produce and provides a relaxed place for people to meet friends. It provides a wide range of snacks, meals and a take away service.
Directly responsible for all kitchen functions including food purchasing, preparation and maintenance of quality standards; sanitation and cleanliness; preparation, plate presentation, sanitation and cleanliness.
Must have a minimum of 2 years experience leading a catering team.
MAIN TASKS
· Ensure all food is prepared as per food preparation requirements
· Ensure meals are produced on time, and sufficient quantities are available for the various areas
· Maintain stock levels of all kitchen supplies
· Oversee and monitor the work of kitchen staff to ensure all tasks are done as required.
· Ensure wastage is minimised.
· Ensure proper hygienic storage methods are utilised to prevent food loss.
· Ensure staff are aware of and follow safe work practices at all times
· Assist other staff in the cleaning of the kitchen at the end of the shift.
· To undertake training as required
· To undertake any other duties as required
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £12.60 per hour
