Job Description

If you are passionate about giving back, enjoy working in a team environment, and possess the desired skills, we welcome your application to become a valued Volunteer!

We are looking for friendly, fun volunteers to help at our regular over 18 disco at the Glenavon Hotel in Cookstown. Experience in supporting people with a learning disability is desired, but not essential. The disco will be held from 8pm -11pm!

Mencap support communities across England, Wales and Northern Ireland. We are reaching out to communities to let them know we want to help make the UK the best place for people with a learning disability to live happy and healthy lives.

Our starting point is that all communities have strengths, all citizens have power, and we want to build on this together! By becoming a Community Events Volunteer with us, in your local community - you will be helping us to get closer to achieve this mission.

We are looking for friendly volunteers to support some of our upcoming community events. We would love your help to make it happen.

What will I be doing?

  • Talking to people about Mencap's work
  • Helping with refreshments
  • Helping at admission desk
  • Regular walk arounds to ensure everyone is ok
  • A boogie on the dancefloor and plenty of fun!

This is a flexible volunteer role, with no regular commitment expected - shifts will be arranged directly with your volunteer manager.
