New Directions Care & Support are seeking exceptional individuals to join our team of dedicated Female Community Support Workers, to assist our younger Clients in the Ammanford area.

The role involves supporting young adults & children who have additional support needs due to learning, and / or physical disabilities, or poor mental health.

Playing an important role within the community, you will be ensuring our Clients can live as independently as possible in the comfort of their own homes. With your care and support, you will help them to lead fulfilling lives. You will need to be patient, friendly and outgoing.

The duties include:

  • Building and developing independent living skills, such as cooking, shopping and managing finances.
  • Promoting social development, by supporting the individual to attend activities, such as bowling, swimming and going to the cinema.
  • Encouraging well-being.
  • Supporting with a healthy balanced diet.
  • Providing companionship.

About you:

Whether you are already an experienced Carer, or you are looking for a career change, we have it covered! With a 5-day in-depth training and Induction programme at our Cross Hands Headquarters before you start, we will then buddy you up with an experienced Carer when you are ready to meet our Clients.

You will need:

  • A full driving license and your own vehicle.
  • To be a compassionate, kind individual, who is dependable and ready to go the extra mile when required.
  • To be able to commit to at least 16 hours a week and available to work every other weekend.
  • To be aged over 18.
  • To have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • To attend a 5 day Induction at our Cross Hands office.

What we offer:

  • 13.45ph weekdays and £14.01ph on weekends (please note, these pay rates include your rolled-up holiday pay).
  • We will pay for you Enhanced DBS check, Social Care Wales registration fee and Blue Light Discount Card*, saving you over £70!
  • We pay you to attend our Induction Training – paid at national minimum wage (payment will be made once you have worked your first shift)
  • Free PPE & uniform.
  • Refer a Friend bonus of £150 for you and your friend if they join us!*
  • Paid travel and waiting time up to 30 minutes.
  • Paid mileage on support sessions (40p per mile).
  • Full time hours and set shifts, or flexible shift patterns.
  • Support to achieve QCF levels 2 and 3 in Health & Social Care.

*Paid after 12 weeks of working with us.
