Based: This is a full-time role is based in house at our offices in Leicester.

Who we are: Books2Door was founded in 2004 by Abdul Thadha. It has grown from a one-man-band selling second-hand and remaindered books on eBay, to an award-winning online bookseller, specialising in brand new book bundles and box sets.

Abdul was born and brought up in one of the most economically deprived areas of Leicester, UK. He's now an advocate for children's literacy and making books accessible to every household. Books2Door aims to introduce children from all backgrounds to the love of reading by selling premium books at a great value price.

Abdul is also the founder of Sweet Cherry Publishing, an award-winning children's publisher dedicated to diverse, accessible stories. He has kept both of his businesses in his home city, bringing jobs to the East Midlands and helping break the book business away from its London bubble.

Books2Door is a company with a strong social conscience. We've donated books to refugee children at Christmas, helped rebuild a bookshop in Gaza, and donated 18,000 books to charity to celebrate our eighteenth birthday. We're an enthusiastic supporter of World Book Day every year, a key date in the literary calendar supporting kids' literacy.

The Role:

If you love literature and you’ve got great ideas to promote beautiful books, then we want to meet you! We are looking for a brand-new team member to join our team. We’re searching for creative flair, a good working knowledge of design for print and media, marketing in all forms of social media and most importantly a PASSION for books.

You will be developing and designing marketing materials to appeal to our current customers and attract new ones too. If you are at the start of your career, have a love of books and marketing, this role will give you a great grounding in our wonderful world of publishing.

Our ideal candidate will have:

● Samples of design work to show us their potential

● A keen interest in typography

● An interest in working on licensed projects (branded materials)

● A passion for design and trends in the book market and or marketing

● Flexibility, willingness, enthusiasm and confidence

● A positive work ethic & great sense of humour

● A desire to put the child at the heart of everything we do

● A passion for children’s books and getting all children reading is also an advantage.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

● Collaborate with other team members to ensure the team meets timescales and

expectations

● Produce designs that show creative flair and attract the attention of our customers.

● Producing eye catching and on trend marketing materials for both print and all

forms of social media.

● Produce stand designs and graphics for Book Fairs and other events.

● Help with Sales Presentations

● Design and layout of our annual catalogue

● Help with Licensing Pitches when needed.

● Be able to help with typesetting and layout of books where necessary.

Essential Skills:

● Passion for books

● A positive can-do attitude and willingness to learn and adapt quickly

● Good working knowledge of Adobe InDesign, and Illustrator and Photoshop

Working Hours: Our working hours are 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday, 8 hours a day (30 minute or 1-hour lunch break unpaid)

Holiday: 20 days plus bank holidays

Location: LE5 3EF

Salary: Dependent on experience
