We are an innovative and ambitious planning department, dealing with not only a high number of planning applications but being at the forefront of planning system advances. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious candidate to join our growing Development Management team.   • This position also currently attracts a market supplement of £3,000 a year. The market allowance will be paid as 12 equal monthly payments and is subject to deductions for pension, income tax and national insurance. This will be subject to review in Spring 2025. There is also a facility for the payment of relevant professional body membership fees.

We have also introduced an incentivised pay scheme which may provide opportunities to earn additional income through working on pre-application enquiries as overtime.

What is the role?

In this role you will play a significant part in the efficient delivery of a wide range of planning application types with opportunities to progress to more complex schemes as your experience grows.

You will have a good knowledge of planning related legislation. You will be a strong team player who can contribute positively to the team and be able to demonstrate initiative and good judgement in making recommendations on a wide range of planning matters.

We also welcome candidates with no prior experience of planning that are motivated and willing to learn. The trainee role is career graded to enable progress to Planning Officer level. Applicants who wish to study to do an undergraduate or post-graduate planning degree will be provided with on-the-job training, and subject to any budgetary restrictions, be sponsored to undertake the appropriate University course or Apprenticeship scheme, including day release.

The successful candidates must be driven, enthusiastic and reliable.
