Job Overview
We are a leading real estate company in London, seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Planning Officer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in contributing to the development and maintenance of our planning systems, policies, and processes, ensuring they align with applicable legislation, regulatory, and policy frameworks. You will work in a dynamic environment, managing a variety of planning matters, responding to enquiries promptly, and contributing to the success of our projects.

Duties

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of planning systems, policies, and processes to support real estate project delivery.
  • Produce high-quality work on a range of planning matters, ensuring all projects comply with relevant planning legislation, regulations, and policy frameworks.
  • Respond to planning and development enquiries in a timely and professional manner, providing accurate and detailed information to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Identify and contribute to planning initiatives that enhance project outcomes in a dynamic real estate environment, managing tight timeframes and multiple priorities.
  • Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure planning and development objectives are met.
  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring they understand planning requirements and procedures.
  • Offer expert advice and recommendations on planning issues to support real estate development projects.
  • Escalate emerging or sensitive planning issues to senior management, keeping them informed of any potential impacts on real estate projects.
  • Develop and implement team work programs to enhance the effectiveness of planning activities in real estate development.
  • Coordinate with external consultants, contractors, and local authorities to ensure real estate projects meet planning requirements and deadlines.
  • Monitor and assess the impact of planning policies and procedures on real estate projects, suggesting improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Prepare and present planning reports and recommendations to senior management and relevant committees within the real estate context.
  • Engage with community stakeholders and participate in public consultations to gather input and feedback on planning proposals and developments.
  • Assist in conducting site assessments and surveys to gather data and support planning applications and real estate decisions.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of planning legislation, regulations, and policies in real estate development.
  • Proven experience in real estate planning with a history of delivering high-quality work on tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to manage conflicting stakeholder needs effectively.
  • Strong analytical skills to provide clear, strategic planning advice.
  • Collaborative team player, able to work well with diverse professionals in the real estate industry.
  • High attention to detail and ability to maintain quality in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, planning software (e.g., CAD, GIS), and general tech-savviness.
  • Familiarity with real estate development processes and tools.
