Job Description

Due to continued expansion and growth we are now recruiting for a Tyre Technician to join our team in our Belfast branch.

We are a well established and busy tyre and automotive Group based in Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Applicants must be reliable and need to be able to demonstrate their enthusiasm, self motivation and communication skills for this role. The ability to work on your own initiative is crucial to this role and to be able to work without constant supervision.

  • Check, remove, replace and repair worn and damaged or defective tyres, automotive parts including break and exhaust systems in cars and commercial vehicles
  • Repair punctures and ensure correct air pressures and levels in tyres
  • Carry out balance and wheel alignment and tracking adjustments
  • Change filters, lubricating parts and perform basic road safety checks and basic car services
  • Cost out work and liaise with the customers before commencing work
  • Increase revenue through upselling to customers
  • Check and order stock
  • Perform basic data inputting and process payments
  • Loading and unloading tyres, deliveries and equipment
  • Exceed customer care standards, service and satisfaction through excellent quality of work, advice and customer interaction
  • Advise customers about keeping tyres and exhausts in good condition
  • Commit to continual personal development, improvement and motivation through training, coaching and mentoring and engagement in performance reviews
  • Communicate effectively with the Centre Manager and team
  • Achieve job expectations and adhere to Company processes, policies and procedures to ensure productivity standards are met
  • Identify any issues with equipment and vehicles and report to the Centre Manager at the earliest opportunity
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the Centre, workshop, reception and Company vehicles
  • Mechanical and visual check of Company vehicles
  • Maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, appearance and uniform
  • Develop technical knowledge by attending training when required
  • Participate and engage in Centre team meetings
  • Understand and adhere to Company policies and procedures to ensure a safe, secure and legal work environment
  • Adhere to all rules and regulations including Health and Safety obligations, requirements and the reporting of accidents
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties as shall from time to time be required by the Company, Centre Manager or Assistant Manager within the competency of the role and post holder
