Key Responsibilities:

  • Daily Operations: Assist in the daily operations of the yard, ensuring the smooth and efficient handling of drums filled with hazardous chemicals. Your keen attention to detail will ensure that all safety protocols are strictly followed.
  • Furnace Operations: Work closely with the furnace, managing its operations and ensuring it is running safely and efficiently. Proper training will be provided to handle this complex equipment.
  • Chemical Handling: Safely manage and store drums containing hazardous chemicals. This involves loading and unloading drums, ensuring they are securely stored, and adhering to all safety guidelines.
  • Indoor and Outdoor Work: Enjoy the variety of working both inside and outside. Whether it’s managing the furnace indoors or handling the drums outdoors, your role will keep you engaged and active throughout the day.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Follow all health and safety regulations diligently. This includes wearing the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and promptly reporting any safety issues to your supervisor.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with your colleagues to ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. Your ability to communicate and collaborate effectively will be crucial to the team’s success.
  • Maintenance and Cleaning: Conduct regular maintenance and cleaning of the yard, furnace, and storage areas. Keeping the work environment clean and safe is a top priority.

Skills and Experience:

  • Previous Experience: While previous experience in a similar role is desirable, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail to ensure all tasks are completed accurately and safely.
  • Physical Stamina: The ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, moving drums, and working in various weather conditions.
  • Communication Skills: Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with your team and supervisors.
  • Safety Awareness: A strong understanding and commitment to health and safety practices, especially when handling hazardous chemicals and operating a furnace.
