Warehouse operative with stock control experience required for 13 week contract with potential to go permanent thereafter.
Client operates a small but busy distribution hub and handles high volume deliveries and returns to site.
Responsible for various tasks within the warehouse environment, including, loading and unloading goods, and ensuring the accurate picking and packing of orders and stock control.
Responsibilities
- Manual handling of products as required.
- Load and unload goods from lorries and containers efficiently.
- Accurately pick and pack items for dispatch, ensuring quality control measures are met.
- Utilise the Warehouse Management System (WMS) for tracking inventory and managing stock levels.
- Assist in materials handling to ensure the safe storage of products within the warehouse.
- Participate in shipping and receiving operations, verifying incoming and outgoing shipments against documentation.
- Operate forklifts safely when necessary, adhering to all safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean and organised work environment to promote safety and efficiency.
Skills
- Proven experience in a warehouse setting is essential.
- Familiarity with picking, packing, shipping, and receiving processes.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is advantageous.
- Knowledge of materials handling techniques to ensure product safety.
- Proficient in operating forklifts; certification is a plus.
- Familiarity with WMS is beneficial for inventory management.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail for stock management.
Dayshift Monday to Friday - potentially some weekend working and month / quarter ends for stock counts
Job Types: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 13 weeks
Pay: From £11.44 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 per week
