DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking an experienced Transport Clerk to play a vital role ensuring smooth-running of all transport scheduled activities.

WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?

As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will

Effectively be able to work on every station within the department (Inbound, Assigning, Paperwork/emails, and Dispatch). You will use WMS and YMS systems to book in deliveries and collections. Providing excellent customer service in person, on the phone and across emails. Be able to organise tasks to ensure everything is completed promptly. Communicate effectively over teams and radios, with the warehouse to ensure clear messages are passed.

• To use WMS/YMS systems to input data. (empty trailers, inbound deliveries, collections, VOR, etc..)
• Be able update spreadsheets in excel with data taken from other systems
• To communicate clear and accurate messages via, email, phone, teams and radio
• Use SBS and YMS to book in drivers, using the paperwork and references provided
• Use SBS and BY to book out drivers collections
• Direct trailers on to the correct bay depending on the stock that is to be unloaded
• Be proactive when it comes to solving problems, and show initiative. If unsure know when to escalate
• Be able to work well under pressure, when in peak periods.
• Show willingness to help others, and provide training when asked
• Report issues that arise with your FLM.

Skills required for the position

• 1 year plus in a transport office (preferable)
• Good knowledge on YMS/WMS systems
  
• Experience with Excel spreadsheets
• Works well within a team and individually
  
• Communicating with 3rd Party Drivers, companies & internal colleagues
• Resepctful and polite telephone & E-mail communications
